Young Adult (R)- Charlize Theron
I was very disappointed with this movie. The previews made it look like it was supposed to be a funny movie, so I was super excited to see it. It turned out to be kind of depressing... and weird. It reminded me of Revolutionary Road in that it made me have an uncomfortable feeling when the movie was over. It started out super slow, and there really wasn't a good plot, and it had a pretty crappy ending. My husband told me it was the same person who did Juno and Up in the Air, and I hated those movies. They were awful. I'm pretty sure I'll never watch another movie by Jason Reitman. He sucks. And this movie sucked.

Time to update!
I have been falling behind on all of my movies. My husband went to a Lakers game a couple weeks ago and I watched two movies that night, then I watched more the next week, and now I'm just backed up. So, it's time to update.
Bad Teacher (R)- Starring Cameron Diaz
There were some funny parts in this movie, but I didn't think it was all that great. Justin Timberlake really grossed me out as well. All she wants to do is get a boob job, then she's out of money, so she's after Timberlake because he has money, and all the while she's just being a bad teacher to get paid. She also gets what she wants in the end, which of course because it's a movie, but I wanted her to get what she deserved. Like I said, there were funny parts, but it was pretty pointless. I would not watch this movie again.
50/50 (R)- Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt & Seth Rogan
I really like this movie. It was the right amount of funny, and there are some sad parts as well, and I just think Rogan played a great friend. I thought the psychiatrist girl (Anna Kendrick) was kind of annoying and there should have been another actress who played her part. I haven't liked any of her parts in any movies. But that's a different story. I kind of like watching movies by myself sometimes because I can feel any kind of emotion I want, so during this one, yeah I cried. And I even pressed rewind on some funny parts. Rogan was just really good. Anyway, I would watch this movie again. I even wanted to watch it again with my husband when he got home from the game.
Green Lantern (PG-13)- Starring Ryan Reynolds
This one was alright. Like I've said before, I don't really like superhero movies where there is a different world or a different planet. They had to introduce that world and the problems going on there in this movie, but for the most part, the movie was on earth, so it wasn't too bad. There wasn't anything really amazing about this movie; it was average. I didn't like the bad guys though. One of them was huge and could kill anyone by gliding over them, and the other one got super ugly so I didn't really want to look at him.
Warrior (PG-13)- Joel Edgerton & Tom Hardy
I did not want to watch this movie. My husband said he had been wanting to watch it for awhile, but I just didn't want to see another boxing movie because I thought I wouldn't be interested in it. So we went to Redbox with my husbands brother and we had five movies to choose from. We each deleted one and my brother-in-law had to choose between the last two, and I thought, oh yes he's going to pick the movie I want, but he didn't! He picked Warrior! I was so mad. Well, we came home and watched it and guess what.. I loved it, of course. My husband loves when I like movies that he picks out because I always doubt his movie choices. Anyway, it was really good. It wasn't as good as Cinderella Man, but it was pretty close. It was really sad on all parts of the family relationship because no one had talked to each other for years. It was just a dysfunctional family because of a drunk dad and a rough childhood and grudges were held. The marine brother was just so mean to everyone. Pretty sad. But a really good movie.

Lucille's Smokehouse BBQ
So, I don't have many friends out here in California yet. I work at a laminating company with seven men, so there's not much socializing outside of work going on there. Thankfully, I go to a church with a lot of friendly people, and I have been able to make some friends there. A couple of weeks ago, we had softball practice together for our tournament coming up, and afterwards we all got together to eat at Lucille's. It's this BBQ place over here in California that is supposedly really good. And since they all know I'm from Texas, my friends husband wanted to see if I'd like it better here than back home.

Thor (PG-13)- Chris Hemsworth
I've been wanting to see this movie for awhile because Thor will be in "The Avengers" this year, and if I want to fully understand that movie, I need to know the stories behind the characters. So my husband and I finally got around to watching it, and at first, I thought it was just a really weird movie. I know superhero movies aren't real, but I like them more when they "can" be real. Like in Superman, Spiderman, and Batman, these superheros are on earth hiding from people, not giving away their identities, which makes it seem more real, and it is more enjoyable for me. So when Thor started out in this other world, I just didn't really like it. I think that's why I don't like Star Wars and other things like that. But Thor did get better... once he got to earth. It was funnier, more interesting, and more "realistic" I guess.
So about the movie, my husband made a good point. How did Natalie Portman "fall" for Thor so fast? Was it just because she saw him with his shirt off? Because he was a huge stuck-up butt when he got to earth. I thought that was a push for a love story. And my husband also didn't know when Thor's personality actually changed. When did he go from this stuck-up butt to a noble person? I think it was when he realized he couldn't grab the hammer thingy. But it's not really clear. The movie was alright. I don't think I'd watch it again though.

Our Idiot Brother (R) - Paul Rudd
I don't really know how I feel about this movie. I didn't really like it much, but I didn't hate it either. It kept my attention for the most part. There were a lot of weird parts in it too, and I don't like how "white trash" they all look either. It was a very hippy-like movie. I guess I do like that the point of the movie is that he thinks the best of people. There's not much else to say about it. It's a pretty simple movie, and I don't think I would recommend it. Maybe if you're super bored.

The Vow- Channing Tatum & Rachel McAdams
Ever since I was younger, but old enough to kind of know what love is about, I have always considered the saying, "I don't love you anymore" to be the most heartbreaking thing that could ever be said. To love someone and them not love you back has got to be the worst feeling in the world. To be left there with nothing else you can do, nothing to change their mind. And I mean really in love, not puppy love, not high school love where you are expecting it to end, I mean REAL love. And I know this sounds really girly and emotional, but if you just stop right now and put yourself in that position, to really think about it and pretend that it's reality, pretend that it is really happening... it's just too sad.
That's what this movie is all about. Or at least that is how I interpreted it. (Spoiler) She gets in a car wreck and loses her memory of the last 5 years of her life. She doesn't remember her husband, she doesn't remember how they met, she doesn't remember their first date, their wedding day, their first year of marriage, their home, their friends, she doesn't remember who she is with him, only who she was before him, she doesn't remember any of her life with him... and he does. He remembers it all. He loses her. He loses all that he had with her. Not necessarily because she "fell out of love" with him, but because she just doesn't remember falling in love with him. He knows the love she had for him, and lost it all. AND she never gained it back! I mean, can you imagine? To think that my husband doesn't even remember who I am and all that we've shared together, and it's only been 7 months of marriage! They had 5 whole years together!
The only reason I'm making this movie such a big deal is because it is based on true events. If this was just a made up story, I wouldn't think much of it except that it's another super cheesy chick flick. (And I mean super uncomfortably awkward cheesy.) But it's a true story! This really happened. Some man had to really suffer through all of this heartache. He had to divorce the love of his life because she didn't even know who he was.

Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1
I was kind of excited to go see this movie because I had just recently finished all the books. Although, I did wait for it to go to the dollar theater, so I guess I wasn't that excited about it. I do not regret waiting, because it was definitely worth the discounted price. Maybe not even worth that, but definitely not worth $7 - $10. Sooo boring! I'm not going to lie, I felt bad making my husband sit through this whole movie with me. It was so incredibly slow, and not very interesting. I do think, however, that it was more interesting to me since I had already read the books and I knew what was really happening. My husband (and all the other men who were dragged by their wives or girlfriends to the theater) had to be good sports and sit through it all. Although, I do think I saw a guy in front of me nod off as soon as the first scene came on. I do think that it followed the book well, too. Out of all four movies so far, this is the second worst. It goes: Eclipse, Twilight, Breaking Dawn, and then New Moon. New Moon was just awful. I would never watch this movie again. Pretty disappointed.
