Captain America 3 / Avengers 2.5

Captain America: Civil War. So this one isn't really a Captain America movie since basically all the Avengers are in it except for Thor and Hulk. They even brought in Ant Man, Spiderman and Black Panther. This is one of those really good movies but not an easy story to follow. I feel like when they reveal the big mystery at the end of the movie, I miss out on so much throughout the movie because you just kind of don't really know what's happening so it's hard to make sense of all of it.

Anyway, so where we left off, Captain America and Falcon are still pretty much searching for the Winter Soldier. This story starts with the Avengers trying to get a bomb from Hydra, they catch the people but Wanda misuses her powers and moves the bomb and it blows up a building where there were people. So the government feels that the problems pretty much follow the Avengers and that they need to be in check, which means that the Avengers will be employed by government and only used when they are sent on a mission instead of them fighting missions that haven't been assigned. Half the Avengers agree to it including Iron Man, and the other half feel like if they need to do something to protect the world and the government doesn't assign it then they can't do what needs to get done, and this side includes Captain America. When Black Widow goes to Wakanda to sign the accords (which is basically the agreement that they will only fight when needed) the building is blown up and the Wakanda king dies. There are pictures saying that it was the Winter Soldier (Buckey) who did it so CA goes after him to see if he can protect him since they are friends when they were young. So there's a big fight and Buckey gets captured. While captured this guy is in the room with him who is supposedly part of SHIELD I guess, but is actually a bad guy and he says these words that turns Buckey back into the Winter Soldier. He escapes and is found again by CA and Falcon and Buckey is back and tells them that there are more Winter Soldiers and that the bad guy is probably after them so they need to stop him. They head out to do so, but then there's another big fight between the two sides of all the Avengers. Iron Man, Iron Patriot, Black Widow, Black Panther, Spiderman, and Vision against CA, Falcon, Winter Soldier, Ant Man, Hawk Eye, and Wanda. Anyway, (gah this is a long story) CA and the Winter Soldier finally escape and head to the place where there are other Winter Soldiers. Iron Man secretly follows them and finally admits that he was wrong and that he's there on CA's side. The bad guy is there but he has killed all the other Winter Soldiers instead of waking the up and using them (because they were frozen for years). Turns out the bad guy is the one who was disguised as Buckey when the Wakanda building was blown up killing the king, he was also in Sokovia when the Avengers and Ultron were battling and the flying island killed his entire family, so basically his mission was that he wanted the Avengers to fall apart and hate each other because they destroyed his family. He shows a video of the Winter Soldier murdering Iron Man's parents, and CA is on Buckey's side because he didn't know what he was doing when he was Winter Soldier, but Iron Man doesn't care. So they all battle each other. Black Panther captures the bad guy and brings him back to SHIELD and basically the Avengers on all split up at the moment.

Whew! So... great story, great movie, super long, and frustrating because you really don't know what side you want to agree with. I mean, you understand CA that he would back up Buckey because when he's Winter Soldier his mind isn't right and he's under Hydra's influence and doesn't know what he's doing, and now he's Buckey so he shouldn't really be punished for it, but then you understand Iron Man because you just don't care who he was at the time, he as a person that killed your parents and there's no understanding or forgiving of that. Don't really know why it's a Captain America movie, but who cares. I love that Spiderman gets into it and Ant Man. It's just overall really great when you understand what's going on.
