Thor 3

Thor Ragnarok poster.jpg

I think Thor is my favorite of the Avengers. It used to be Guardians of the Galaxy, but I think after how bad that second movie was I just realized how much more I love Thor. Not just the movies, but his character. He's funny, and when he comes to fight you feel like ok cool, Thor's here they're gonna win this now. Anyway, this movie is the best Thor movie of the three; it's also I think one of the funniest Marvel movies after the first Guardians.

The story is that the prophecy of Ragnarok is actually happening... that Asgard is going to be destroyed completely and that he has to be the one to save it. So Loki sent his father to a nursing home on earth, put him in exile and then pretended to be the king by using his magic to disguise himself as King Odin. When Thor hears about Ragnarok, he goes back to Asgard to see how things are going and discovers what Loki has done. They go to earth to find their dad and when they finally find him, he dies. But turns out that they actually have an older sister Hela, who was banished by the king, and because the king is dying, her banishment is over and now the kingdom is actually hers because she is the oldest child. Also turns out that she was the kings executioner way before Thor and Loki came along, and she was the one who helped the king get Asgard the way it was, but that her evilness became too much for the king that he banished her. Anyway, so she meets Loki and Thor on earth and is trying to get back to Asgard because when she gets there all of her powers will be restored and she'll be stronger than them all. Loki calls to be transported back through the bifrost and she gets in there with them and punches them out of being transported. Loki and Thor both get sent to this planet, separately, which I'll call the Lost planet because all the people who are lost get there. While on the Lost planet, Thor gets captured and is sent to fight in this event by the Grandmaster called the Contest of Champions where he finds out that he has to fight the Hulk. After they battle they end up together in Hulk's room, and the girl who captured Thor comes by and Thor finds out that she is Asgardian. Anyway, he ends up persuading her and the Hulk who then becomes Banner to steal a ship and go to Asgard. Oh, Loki is also on the planet but he has gotten there a few weeks before Thor and became in good standing with the Grandmaster. Loki helps Thor get to the ship, but then tries to betray him to get captured so that he can get money, but Thor already knows how Loki is and gets away.

They get to Asgard and find out that Hela is basically killing everyone who will not follow and obey her, but that most of the Asgardians are being protected by Hiemdall, the all-seeing guy who used to be in charge of the bifrost. Thor gets there to fight Hela, but she is too powerful. Loki ends up showing up with a huge ship and he gets all the Asgardians on the ship. Thor ends up figuring out that he can't actually stop Ragnarok from happening, that he has to let it happen and Asgard has to be destroyed so that Hela can also be destroyed, but since all of the people are on the ship, Asgard will be again just in a different place. Anyway, they all get away on the ship and Asgard is blown to pieces along with Hela.

I really love this movie. It's a lot darker than the first Guardians, but it's pretty much just as funny, and it's a great story, and of course Loki is in it and you just never know about him. I don't know why I love Loki's character so much, but he's definitely one of my favorite. The whole first half of this movie is just so fun. This is tied for first with Guardians.
